When going to wider tires or using wheel spacers, the air curtains no longer work as intended. Instead of skirting air along the side of the wheel, the air passing through hits the tire and increases pressure in the wheel well. Wind tunnel testing has shown a slight downforce increase as well as a slight cooling increase across the oil cooler due to less pressure in the wheel well. They install with factory hardware.
